The Clark Collection Aquires Work by Ron Norsworthy

The Clark Collection has acquired Narcissus and Echo (2024), a mixed-media collage in relief by Ron Norsworthy. Drawing on the mythological figures of Narcissus and Echo, the work invites reflection on identity, desire, and the ways we see and understand ourselves in relation to others. Through his layered compositions and reimagining of decorative space, Norsworthy creates nonlinear narratives that engage with lived experience, cultural memory, and the possibilities of Afrofuturist thought.

The acquisition reflects the Clark Collection’s engagement with Norsworthy’s interdisciplinary practice, in which collage, architecture, and ornament become vehicles for reconsidering familiar narratives and imagining new ways of inhabiting space.
