Gallery Information
Edwynn Houk Gallery specializes in photography. Since its inception in 1977, the gallery has represented the leading figures of the Modernist movement. With a focus in particular on vintage photographs from 1917-1939, the gallery presents early works by artists such as André Kertész, László Moholy-Nagy, El Lizzitsky, Dorothea Lange, Man Ray, Tina Modotti, Brassaï, Robert Frank, Margaret Bourke-White, and Dora Maar. Beginning with exclusive representation of Sally Mann in 1989, the gallery has expanded to serve a select group of leading contemporary photographers, including Stephen Shore, Annie Liebovitz, Robert Polidori, Valérie Belin, Abelardo Morell, Matthew Pillsbury, Lynn Davis, Lalla Essaydi, Danny Lyon, and Joel Meyerowitz. Edwynn Houk Gallery participates in select global art fairs, including Art Basel, the Armory Show (New York), Paris Photo and Art Basel Miami Beach. Mr. Houk has served on the Board of Directors for the ADAA (Art Dealers Association of America), Paris Photo, and AIPAD and the Selection Committees for Art Basel and Paris Photo. Edwynn Houk Gallery has been a member gallery of the Art Dealers Association of America for three decades.
