Edwynn Houk Gallery specializes in photography. Since its inception in 1977, the gallery has represented the leading figures of the Modernist movement. With a focus in particular on vintage photographs from 1917-1939, the gallery presents early works by artists such as André Kertész, László Moholy-Nagy, El Lizzitsky, Dorothea Lange, Man Ray, Tina Modotti, Brassaï, Robert Frank, Margaret Bourke-White, and Dora Maar.
Beginning with exclusive representation of Sally Mann in 1989, the gallery has expanded to serve a select group of leading contemporary photographers, including Valérie Belin, Abelardo Morell, Matthew Pillsbury Lynn Davis, Annie Liebovitz, Robert Polidori, Lalla Essaydi, Danny Lyon, Joel Meyerowitz, and Stephen Shore.
Edwynn Houk Gallery has participated in Art Basel for more than three decades. In addition, the gallery regularly exhibits at the Armory Show (New York), Paris Photo, Art Basel Miami Beach, and other international art fairs.
Mr. Houk has served on the Board of Directors for the ADAA (Art Dealers Association of America), Paris Photo, and AIPAD and the Selection Committees for Art Basel and Paris Photo.
