Bringing together photographs by nineteen women, “To See and Be Seen” examines how women artists redefined the possibilities of photography while navigating and challenging longstanding social and institutional barriers. Drawing on works from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s collection, the exhibition spans a range of photographic formats and approaches, reflecting a period of significant change in American culture and the recognition of photography as an art form. Work by Sally Mann is included.
