“Visible Fictions: Photography and Artifice” at Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, Florida

Work by Gregory Crewdson and Laurie Simmons included

September 19, 2026 – February 21, 2027 | Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, Florida

The exhibition explores photography as a constructed form of reality, bringing together artists who use staged scenes, artificial environments, and invented narratives to challenge the medium’s documentary associations. Work by Gregory Crewdson and Laurie Simmons is included alongside works by artists including Sophie Calle, Renée Cox, Thomas Demand, Tania Franco Klein, Nikki S. Lee, and Cindy Sherman. Organized by the Norton Museum of Art, the exhibition examines how photographic artifice can shape perceptions of identity, domestic life, and the world around us.
