The Vancouver Art Gallery has been gifted more than 800 photographs from Stephen Shore’s Uncommon Places series by the Chan family. Spanning iconic landscapes and urban scenes across North America, the series captures the interplay of light, color, and everyday environments in Shore’s signature large-format style. The donation establishes one of the most comprehensive holdings of the series worldwide and strengthens the gallery’s collection of contemporary photography.
