Lillian Bassman: Bazaar and Beyond at The Met Fifth Avenue showcases the mid-20th-century fashion photographer’s work drawn from a significant gift to the museum. The exhibition traces Bassman’s career from her early design work and art direction at Harper’s Bazaar to her innovative, darkroom-oriented photographic practice, highlighting her experimental approach to fashion imagery that reimagined silhouettes, gesture, and abstraction.
