April 12, 2025 – ongoing | Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
The exhibition explores how artists challenge dominant historical narratives through photography, painting, sculpture, and time-based media. Featuring over 140 works by more than 70 artists, including Abelardo Morell, the show is organized into three sections—Monuments, Unofficial Archives, and Counter Histories—each examining how memory, power, and personal experience shape our understanding of the past. Morell’s work appears alongside that of Mark Bradford, Alice Neel, Jasper Johns, and others, offering poetic interventions that reframe history from intimate and unexpected perspectives.
