February 28–June 9, 2025 | Villa Medici - Académie de France à Rome
Chromotherapia, cocurated by Maurizio Cattelan and Sam Stourdzé, invites the viewer to explore the history of color photography through the gaze of nineteen artists, including Toiletpaper (Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari). Divided into seven sections, the exhibition explores the diversity of gazes and practices that bear witness to a common thread: the desire to make us see things differently, by infusing images with the life and emotion that only color can convey. Erwin Blumenfeld's abstracted portrait of Jean Patchett, an image originally featured on a 1950 Vogue US cover, is included in the exhibition.
