Traveling from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., Dorothea Lange: Seeing People is on view at the Nevada Museum of Art through February 15, 2026. Featuring 100 photographs, the exhibition reframes Lange’s groundbreaking career through the lens of portraiture, emphasizing her singular ability to capture the dignity, strength, and humanity of her subjects. From scenes of economic hardship to images addressing migration, poverty, and racism, the show highlights Lange’s innovative and empathetic approach to documenting social issues. Curated by Philip Brookman, this presentation marks the only West Coast venue for the nationally touring exhibition, which is part of the National Gallery’s Across the Nation program.
