During its plenary session on January 24, 2024, the Academy of Fine Arts elected Valérie Belin to chair VI of the photography section, a recently created chair.
This election will be subject to the approval of the President of the Republic, Protector of the Academy.
The photography section will now be made up of 6 members: Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Sebastião Salgado, Jean Gaumy, Dominique Issermann, Françoise Huguier and Valérie Belin.
During this same session, the Academy of Fine Arts also elected Eric Karsenty correspondent of the photography section.
